This family vacation was a nice change of pace. No cell phones, no computers and lots of time with family and friends. Andrew's godmother Pat and her two kids Raylene (13) and Craig (6) joined us on this Carribbean adventure. Mark decided to hang behind, but we're all pretty sure he regrets making that decision. We shipped out from San Juan, PR and visited several islands. On Saint Thomas we rode the gondolla to the top of the hill and took in the beautiful panoramic views. We saw a parrott show on top and did a little shopping. On Dominica, Craig and Amanda went river tubing. It wasn't real adventurous but was a relaxing float through the rainforest with a few little rapids here and there. Andrew stayed behind and swam at the pool with Raylene. Craig and I truly appreciated having a 13 year old along. Next we were off to Barbados where we decided to hit the beach and take in some sun. Even with SPF 45 Craig and I managed to burn, but just a little. Saint Lucia offered up a Pirate Extraveganza enjoyed by Craig, Pat, Raylene and Little Craig while Andrew and I had a lazy morning doing a little shopping. The adventure was at Saint Kitts where Amanda and Raylene went ziplining through the rainforest. It was an exhilerating adventure and we both can't wait to go again. Our last stop on Saint Maarten was another day spent in the sand. We collected sea shells for little Craig to take back to his classmates and swam in the ocean one last time. Finally, we were back in San Juan and ventured up to one of the old forts where we did some exploring before calling it a day and heading back to the hotel to prepare for a long flight home the next day. We were all tired on the way home but I guess that just proves how much fun we had while we were away.

Bon Voyage in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Andrew loved the towel animals left for him each night.
